In-house versus the reseller model
A large share of Indian agencies are a sales layer over freelancers. It isn't automatically bad, but it changes everything about accountability and speed. Ask directly: who edits the videos, who buys the media, who writes the copy, and are they employees. The hesitation in the answer tells you more than the answer.
Specialist or full-stack
A specialist in one channel usually beats a generalist at that channel. But every handoff between vendors costs time and context, and most brands under a certain size lose more to coordination than they gain in specialism. Full-stack makes sense when the channels need to feed each other; specialists make sense when one channel is the whole business.
Pricing reality in 2026
Indian market benchmarks: social media management ₹25,000–₹1,00,000 a month; performance marketing management ₹25,000–₹75,000 plus spend; Shopify builds ₹50,000–₹1,50,000; custom web ₹1.5L upwards. Quotes far below these ranges are subcontracted, and that's fine as long as you know it and price the risk.
